Proportional Relationships & Unit Rate — Easy Worksheet 1

Grade 8 · MathSheets    Name: ____________________   Date: __________

Answer each question. Give the unit rate as a number.

How to solve

A proportional relationship has the form y = kx and its graph is a straight line through the origin. The unit rate k is the slope: the y-value when x = 1, or y ÷ x for any point on the line. To compare two relationships, compare their unit rates.

Example

The graph shows the water pumped into a tank. What is the unit rate in liters per minute?

0123456780510152025303540MinutesLiters(2, 10)

Answer: 5
