Unit Rates & Unit Prices — Easy Worksheet 2
Grade 6 · MathSheets Name: ____________________ Date: __________
Solve each problem. Write money with a $ sign.
How to solve
A unit rate tells how much there is for 1 of something. Divide the first amount by the second: 96 pages in 8 minutes is 96 ÷ 8 = 12 pages per minute. A unit price is the cost of 1 item: 6 juice boxes for $4.50 is 4.50 ÷ 6 = $0.75 each. To find the better buy, work out both unit prices; the lower one wins. To find a new amount, multiply the unit rate by the new number: 12 pages per minute for 15 minutes is 12 × 15 = 180 pages.
