Rounding Decimals, Then Dividing — Easy Worksheet 2

Grade 6 · MathSheets    Name: ____________________   Date: __________

Round each decimal to the place given, then divide the rounded numbers. Write the exact quotient of the rounded numbers.

How to solve

First round: look at the digit just after the place you round to. 5 or more rounds up, 4 or less stays the same. 8.47 to the nearest tenth is 8.5. Then divide the rounded numbers: 8.5 ÷ 5 = 1.7. If the divisor is a decimal, move both decimal points to the right until the divisor is a whole number: 4.2 ÷ 0.6 is the same as 42 ÷ 6 = 7.

Example

Round 16.02 to the nearest tenth, then divide: 16.02 ÷ 8 ≈ ___
