Fraction of a Number with Tape Diagrams — Easy Worksheet 1

Grade 5 · Whoobee    Name: ____________________   Date: __________

Answer each question. A tape diagram splits the whole into equal units; the number on top is the whole and a ? marks what to find.

How to solve

To find 34 of 24, split 24 into 4 equal units: 24 ÷ 4 = 6, so each unit is 6. Three units are 3 × 6 = 18. So 34 of 24 = 18. To find the whole when you know a part, find one unit first, then multiply by the denominator.
