Properties of Parallelograms, Rectangles, Rhombuses & Kites — Easy Worksheet 1
Grade 10 · MathSheets Name: ____________________ Date: __________
Use the properties of each quadrilateral. When diagonals are drawn, they meet at E. Diagrams are not always drawn to scale.
How to solve
Parallelogram: opposite sides are equal and the diagonals bisect each other (AE = EC, BE = ED). Rectangle: a parallelogram whose diagonals are also equal, so AE = BE = CE = DE. Rhombus: all four sides are equal, the diagonals are perpendicular and each diagonal bisects a pair of angles. Kite: two pairs of equal neighboring sides, perpendicular diagonals, and the main diagonal bisects the other one. Set equal parts equal to each other and solve for x; where diagonals are perpendicular, use the Pythagorean Theorem.
